Living in Chaos: Kitchen Remodel Part 1

I wanted to update my lovely readers on what has been going on in my life lately, and what has been keeping me away from regularly blogging.  Well here is part of it... We have bought our amazing little first house together and we are trying to make it our own.  The first thing we wanted to do right away was update and expand the kitchen.  It was a precious little kitchen to begin with, but it was just that.. LITTLE!  We have actually done so much in the past month, and our kitchen is almost done.  However, instead of posting a million hundred pictures on here today, I am going to post the remodel in parts.  Here is part 1: mission expand kitchen.

Before of the dining room that backs up to the kitchen:

And we start making the big mess...

We are going to use this wall for added storage with cabinets and a cute little bench breakfast nook.

The view from entering from the living room.

My dad's favorite part..

And these two handsome fellas..

The wall was supporting parts of the ceiling and the attic so we had to come up with a way to keep the wall open, but also still look great.  My mom found these awesome beams that came out of a house in Newberry, SC that was built in the 1850's.  I am in LOVE with these beams!

The beams going up!

When we removed the wall, we had to put flooring down and sand and stain it.

 Tada! The beams are up!

We are so lucky to have family that is helping us do all of this! We are loving the transformation of our little galley kitchen into a large open french country kitchen.  More posts to follow soon! :)

Thanks for stopping by!
